Looks like a lot of beach. Three rows of chairs and umbrellas.

SXM??? Wendell Actually, Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras day is packed much worse than that. It is elbow to elbow, and you don't walk, you just move with the sea of humanity as you are pushed along. I doubt also that the odor at the Beach is anything like the nauseating stench of vomit and human excretions that offend the nostrils on Bourbon Street. I worked it too many years. That's why I always go on a Cruise during Mardi Gras. I would much rather be on that beach than Bourbon Street- Just sayin' <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />

Looking at the webcam, it looks like there's some kind of fence or something on the beach?

I think what you are seeing is due to the quality (or lack there of) of the webcam. I think its just where the waves hit the beach and erode the sand away.

Not sure exactly what they are talking about, but there appears to be seaweed there on the beach.

Earlier in the morning, there appeared to be a small structure in the sand between the chairs and the water. I think once the sun was higher in the sky, it was apparent there was nothing there and I think it was just erosion where the water was breaking.
