If you are staying at a place with an ocean breeze, they should not be a problem. If not, use mosquito milk, sold in drug stores and other places. The stuff is great!

Mosquitoes are a function of how much rain there has been and how much breeze there is. So if there has been a lot of rain, then there are bunches of skeeters. I am with you though, I attract them. I tried those Off fan things in December and they didn't do a darn thing. I think that the only thing that really works is DEET.

Another vote for Incognito, especially for those who cannot use DEET-containing products.

pito,

While I've never used Incognito, I've used both Mosquito Milk and Off, specifically the OFF towelettes which I carry with me everywhere, and have had equally good results from both. I find the towelettes more to my liking because they are very small, portable and easy to discretely use if needs dictate, with no ill effects for your neighbors and no overspray for them to contend with either.

Respectfully,

pat

I just bought it on Amazon for $17.96 for a 3.38 oz. spray bottle. A little pricey but hopefully worth it.

They also have a body wash that seems to work well.

One additional thought for your consideration... Are the mosquito bites mainly from your feet to your knees? Do they start itching in the morning after you wake up for the day? Were you walking on the beach or across the grassy lawns after 2 or 3 pm the day before you started itching?

If the answers to these questions are "yes" then you might be suffering from the bites of sand fleas inflicted the afternoon before.

In his great novel "Don't Stop the Carnival" author Herman Wouk had one of his major characters describe sand fleas as "the scourge of the Caribbean" and as "tiny biting horrors..."

The solution is to ALWAYS SPRAY your legs from the knees to the toes with Deep Woods Off every afternoon by 2pm (3pm at the latest), and reapply after each swim or walk in the water. ...and YES you need the DEET in the spray to protect you...

Hope this helps...it works for us!
