Hello,
My wife and I will be going to Saint Martin in April. I have been a couple of times and love the beaches. I know they change configurations and often gain/lose sand because of storms. Its been a while since I have been to Cupecoy Beach it was a favorite of mine. is there anything left? ive also never been to happy bay, bay rouge, friars, galleon. which do you guys prefer from that list? I ike Mullet most of all.....

Cupecoy changes from day to day and if there is sand there today, it could be not there tomorrow. It is one of the beaches that changes the MOST from day to day, so whatever the current condition is has no bearing to what it will be in April. The good news is that Mullet, a huge favorite of mine also!!--should always have sand, although it too can change from day to day, with some days being calm and other days, with wild surf and a cliff getting into and out of the water. You might want to add Dreams at Nettle Bay on your list of beaches to check out, as it is an awesome restaurant. Enjoy!

Dreams? That's good to know we are staying at the Nettle Bay Beach Club...in a rented condo...I heard the beach has glass and not great for swimming because of rock/urchins..etc...Dreams is expensive?

The beach at NBBC is not good, no. But the beach at Dreams is maintained by them and is better. Dreams can be expensive, yes, it depends on what you get. They are a sponsor here and their menu is online. Chairs are free when you eat there also.

Staying at NBBC now Beach is ok there is some small glass but doesn't spoil the beach effect It's a beautiful setting overlooking Marigot Good pools Haven't tried water but understand there are a few spots where you can get in Very reasonably priced. Quiet . Love going to Porto Cupecoy. Some entertainment each night and good restaurants. Close to Maho area . Went to market in Marigot today.La Cigale for dinner tonight. Looking forward to Dreams we had to make a quick decision after losing Caravanserai exchange and it has worked out. Island does seem more busy than last year but we love it...

Based on trips during April, Cupecoy has plenty of sand on the main beach where Danny is situated. The baby beaches also have sand at low morning tides.(Check the newspaper for high/low times.) Baie Rouge is really nice, though sometimes the water can be rough, but it is worth the trip. Enjoy Gus' Beach Bar or Chez Raymond for lunch and drinks. Also, beach boys rent chairs and keep an eye out for your rental car. Enjoy your trip.

The beach(es) at Cupecoy have changed drastically in just the last week, with full sand at Shore Pointe, to no sand now. But the sand is now at what we call "baby beach". No way to say whar you will find in April, but the seas are usually more stable then, so you should be able to get a better report before you arrive.

Currently, the parking lot adjacent to the Ocean Club is blocked off. However you can turn off the road there, and pay $5 to park above any of the beaches (sand moves around). Alternately, there is some parking along the wall off the main (Rhine) road; walk in through the entrance next to Shore Pointe. Baby beach is basically across from the Blue Mall; has steps and a rope hand rail to get down to a beautiful crescent-shaped beach.

You can park in the paid parking area, or you can park next to the road and walk in.

Baby beach is NOT towards Mullet. From the Ocean Club, there is what I call Ocean Club beach, then Baby beach, then the middle beach(with the rock), and then Shore Pointe/villa beach, where Dany has his stand. All are accessible from the paid parking, or by walking from the parking along the street.

I guess we were at the rock beach last year as we had to go down a steep rock path area to get to beach. We rented chairs from I guess Dany as he comes to that area on an ATV.His food stand is farther down the beach area near some condo areas which it looks like we need to walk into from condo area..Maybe I had too many fruit drinks that day but this is what I recall. Be there in 2months. Thanks for info..Glenn

Kay....Questions with this image I just updated..... Is the parking lot next to the Ocean Club now closed? And approximately, where is the paid parking? ![[Linked Image]](http://donlinda.net/images/Cupecoy2015.jpg)

Most of the parking lot next to the Ocean Club is currently blocked off by boulders, so you cannot park there. The entrance to that parking lot is open and there is a gate opposite the entrance to that lot where you pay to enter and you can then park near any of the Cupecoy beaches. The charge is $5.00 per day. You can leave the parking area and return later in the day for no additional charge.

Don and Linda--don't know the answer to the question, but have two comments 1) your arial photographs are just da bomb!! and 2) there's a slight typo on Shore Ppinte..

As I said in my first post, the parking lot next to the Ocean Club is currently blocked off (closed). It is, however, the way to get to the paid parking.
