At Les Balcons, top row, looking over the OBBR
To the right of OBBR, I see big hump, little hump to it's right [also saw that today from Cupecoy - which has lttle sand] I think that is Statia, but about 4 fingers to the left of big hump is a large island. First thought it was St Barts, but I think St Barts is further to the left
[Four fingers comment, old sailing term, you fix a distant mark and hold up fingers to describe to someone where something is, ie off that point of land, 3 fingers to the right is a red bouy and so on]

What are we seeing
Thanks

Don't know if it is not St. Barts but am jealous. Will be on top row at Les Balcons in April. Tell Carine and David hello.

Just go on Google maps and see what's out there.

Or take a picture and post it.

No, St Barth is way to the left from the two islands the OP is describing.... Carine & David will confirm that it is St Kitts & Nevis if the OP ask them

Not on island at the moment, but have 15 years of seeing that direction from Red Pond area. Must be a super clear day to see St. Kitts and Nevis, only happens a very few times a year. Good for you!

OK, didn't know you could see any other island besides St. Barts from Oyster Pond/Dawn Beach area. Learn something new every day

If your house is well located in Oyster Pond/Dawn Beach area you can see:
St Barth (of Course..) St Kitts and Nevis, AND.... Anguilla!

Definitely will check with Carine or David – took a bearing with my BB Playbook magnometer – assuming i set it correctly, the 2 humps bear 186 and the other island 173, if all else fails will check on google maps when I have a better download connection. Was able to take a picture of both. Will post once we have the answer

Actually I correct myself... from les Balcons, you see today (beside St Barth) St Kitts & Nevis, and Statia ... very very clear day!

Sounds to me like he's simply talking about those 2 small rocky formations jutting out of the water in front of & to the right of St Barts. The larger is long & low & the smaller sitting behind & to the right of the long, low one is kinda shaped like a small witches hat.

Those would be the dive site groupers or hen and chicks if your referring to the ones before Bart's.

Not necessarily. Hen and Chicks would be very difficult to see. Blocked by Molly Beday and Pelican rock. The Groupers are not that easy to see either from Oyster Pond. With St. Barts behind them, it would be difficult to see them as individual islands.
Philippe is correct. What they are seeing is Statia, St. Kitts and Nevis although Nevis is seldom able to be seen anywhere in St. Martin on any but the clearest days. Maybe 2 times per year.

OK, so the answer is Statia and St Kitts/Nevis
Funny story asked the person at Dirty Des liquor store, said he was a charter captain - told me there was no island, not possible!!!
Even when we changed yesterday to La Plage on the Maho side, we could still see St Kitts / Nevis, but not so much detail as from Les Balcons

Thanks everyone

We visit the island during late November into early December, and stay at La Vista Beach. Usually at least once during our stay I can see all four islands from our balcony. Nevis is very difficult to see, and it appears as a shadow that causes me to grab the binoculars for a better look.

When we stayed @ Les Balcons we could see St.Kitts, Nevis and Statia.. From our balcony @ Princess Heights we can see St. Barth's clearly every morning and St. Kitts/Nevis/Statia if it's clear. The small bump is Nevis....
