I've searched the forum and found that everyone raves about the Michael Bean(s)(?) show at Leverick, but I can't figure out what it is? We'll be there on a Tues night in mid-march.
Is it a dinner show? We'd planned on eating aboard that night.
Thanks!
Julie

It's not a dinner show. If you are on the dock just walk over and enjoy or dinghy in from a ball. Nick would be happy however if you bought a few drinks!

Michael plays Monday-Wednesday from about 5-6:30. It is a family fun show with sing alongs, shakers with shells are on the tables so you can help with the percussion section. He is a one man show, guitar, harmonica, foot drums on a case of Heineken. He has a fun conch blowing contest, and question and ansarrrr.

Excellent - thank you! Happy to buy a few drinks - we've never been able to sit in a bar and not.

We were at Michael Bean's show last Monday. Our crew had a good time and it was Bean's usual spirited performance. We saw Michael before the show and helped him load some new (to him) sails into his dinghy. He recommended a reservation and we had a table with our name on it when we came in for the show. Our server, Doreen I believe, was attentive and it was a good crowd.

Cheers, Rick

Beans puts on a great show, he really has fun with it.
Indeed reserve a table and you can order dinner at the same table when you are ready.
The food at Leverick Bay has always been good.

Then we definitely need to put this on our list of things to do! Minus 6 degrees this am - without factoring wind chill!

When we saw him a couple of years ago I purposely wore a T-Shirt from the "Traverse City Yacht Club" and he got a kick out of that. I am originally from Traverse City MANY years ago! (for those that aren't familiar with “Traverse City” – it is in the same neck of the woods that Michael is from)

How late in the season does he play? Wondering if we can catch him in mid-May.

Edited to add: Nevermind, just saw on Leverick's site that May 7 is his last show. We'll miss him this time around frown

We were there last Tuesday night. Always a great show!

(Make sure you carefully read the designated Happy Hour times on the menu. His show is referred to as "Happy Aaaargh" but on those days "Happy Hour" pricing ends before the show.)

Bummer...same thing happened to us last year.....his web site said his last show was the week we were going to be there and all of the TTOLrs were looking forward to it...around the end of April or so we learned his web site wasn't updated and he didn't play while we were there either....but somehow we pushed through the disappointment at the various other attractions...Baths, Saba, Fat Virgin, Duck and Dive (personal favorite...and inside joke )...etc.

We are not a big fan of the BBQ and prefer to eat on the boat or at the Loose Mongoose. What we did not like about the BBQ is it's only one trip through the line so you have to put your dessert on top of your meat.

Are we talking BBQ or Beans??

I think Evan meant that for the full moon party posting....but I can't speak for him. Evan....did you overshoot the ball and wind up in the wrong posting?

Well, hell! I'll have to wear my Torch Lake YC shirt from the WMYA regatta. Absolute favorite inland lake to sail. Small world indeed.

Should be easy for at least one of us to wear a Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Crooked Lake (where we live), Sturgeon River tshirt. I think that covers 99% of my husbands wardrobe.
