Hi, everyone. I'm wondering if we moor in Leverick Bay, where would you go for dinner? I'm confused as to where you moor and what is a reasonable dingy ride. Thanks in advance. You guys are great.

There's great food at Jumbies and finer dining at the upstairs restaurant.
You can get a spot on the dock for just a little more $$ than a mooring ball, but well worth it.

You'd eat right there at the resort. Short dink ride from the mooring field or just reserve a slip.

As tradewinds said, you can get a slip for just a little more - the convenience is great.

Friday is our favorite night to eat there for the Jumbies and BBQ. Lately we always stay Thur and friday nights so we can do dinner out somewhere on the island via rental car and the BBQ.

Thanks, So if you were to only have one night in VG, where would you moor for the evening? It looks like Little Dixie Bay might have more options?

I think he/she is referring to locations...Saba/BEYC/LB etc.

One night, I'd still pick Leverick. You can rent a car and go anywhere on the island.

If I could stay just one night in North Sound, it would be at Leverick Bay. If you are there on a Friday, the BBQ buffet and Mock Jumbie dancers are a lot of fun. If it is Monday-Thursday (I think that is still the schedule?) there is the Michael Bean show, then I would have dinner upstairs. The Upstairs restaurant is one of the best meals in the islands.

Not to mention the nicest staff around!

I guess it depends what/where you want to have dinner/drinks. At the BEYC you have more options including Saba Rock, all in the same mooring field.

Yup, depends on what you want to do and see. From LB you can also rent a car or cab it and see other parts of the island. From BEYC you can do the hike up and see the sound and have a few more choice on eating/drinking. I also love the view from Saba's mooring balls.

Little Dix? I have never even thought of anchoring there. I am not aware of the availabity of any public mooring balls.
If you want to dine at Little Dix or anywhere in Spanish Town for that matter, you are better off on a slip in the Yacht Harbor (particularly if you have AC) or on a mooring ball just outside tha Yacht Harbor. I think that Chez Bamboo and Coco Maya are better choices than Little Dix, except for Monday nights when they put out the most lavish buffet I have ever seen.
The best meal on the island, however, is served at Leverick. So, for one night, that would be my pick.

Why not spend 2 nights? We get in on a Thursday night around 4pm typically. Get the rental car and have dinner at Coco Maya (going to try Chez Bamboo next time!). Then Friday we tour the island - hit the baths and hog heaven as well as any other place. Sometimes we get back early afternoon and go to saba rock. Then we have the BBQ and Jumbies at Leverick that night.

It's a great way to experience a lot more.

I'm thinking this may be your first cruise in the BVI. May be wrong. Leverick Bay is the perfect area for VG exploration. If you are spending only one night and want a first class meal then the upstairs restaurant is the place to visit. However, that means you will miss renting a car and exploring the island. Dinner at Coco Maya, Chez Bamboo, Little Dix, Saba Rock, Bitter End YC, Biras, Fat VIrgin and of course HOG HEAVEN are only a few you will miss. Now you get the idea. Many return visits are required. Have a wonderful cruise.

Thanks, everyone. You're help is amazing. It is our second time in the BVI, but it's been years and our first time chartering on our own. We only have 6 nights. So much to do and not nearly enough time. Sounds like Leverick Bay will be our home for the night. CAN NOT WAIT. I have so many more questions for you all. Thanks so much for being so helpful!
