We will be spending 11 nights in 4 different Wilderness Camps in May. I understand that the staff will not wash your underwear. Does this apply to socks also??? I don't have any problem washing my unmentionables myself or socks, for that matter. However, I'm concerned about how they will get dry. I suppose one has to hang them somewhere around the tent?? (I have this vision of spendiing $1000 a night on Mombo and having my underwear hanging off the front rail of the building.. It ain't a pretty sight!!! )

We draped ours on the furniture inside the tent. Leave them on the outside patio and the monkyes will take them or the spiders will build nests in them. (Only joking about the spiders!)

Ok, thanks again for the warning regarding the monkeys. That's something I didn't know to be wary of, until Mike's post in the other thread.. But, do they do the socks for you or not?? If not, I'll bring more pairs, so I don't have to wash so often..

"I'll bring more pairs, so I don't have to wash ..."

Cross my heart true story.....came home from the ofice last Wednesday.....three pairs of new socks from Tommy Bahama were on the bed.....I asked... Why?

She said she did not have time to do the laundry...

Good thing I love her....

BTW, according to Wildersness Safari's fact sheets for the camps. Mombo (and other 6 paw camps) will wash your unmentionables in a separate bag. Should help cut down on the packing.

Thanks, I actually just saw that on Mombo's site today. Mombo is the only 6 paw camp on our itinerary though. Unfortunately, Mombo is at the very end of our trip, so we will still need to do some of our own 'unmentionables', as it were.
