aglio e olio, relatively new restaurant located in grand case. it's on the main road, where restaurant row ends and junctions with the main road. open 6-11pm daily during high season. menu focuses mainly on neapolitan pizza, salad, and pasta. the owner is from nyc, so had a good conversation about pizza and island living. food and service was excellent. definitely our top choice now for our pizza fix on island. ![[Linked Image]](http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv308/lotsanivanh/3905ab9e-69db-4a31-99c0-eb35d658dd7d_zps69646d43.jpg)

Is this the place that was a bakery relatively recently or the place that used to be a pizza restaurant YEARS ago, basically on the main road?? I see wood there. Is it a wood fired pizza oven?

OK, that is in a totally different spot than I thought she was talking about. I thought she was talking about the place roughly across from Enolds.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I think Carol you are right. I looked up the restaurant and it said Marigot side of road. Near the drug store.

I'm pretty sure she won't mind my copying and pasting her FB comment here:
"at the junction of the end of restaurant row (where enolds is) and the main road; it is next to the boulangerie."

Exactly, Carol....where Portofino used to be. That was great in it's 'hay day'. Thanks, Lotsan......we'll give it a try upon your recommendation.

Do you know whether it is VPN certified?
We found it in November but were always there too early for their opening. Id wanted to try it.

Yes,it's on the main road across the way from Enold's. You can actually see Enold's behind the wood in the pic. It is a wood oven built by the owner.
