Haven't used the CA/RT ferries since 2012 and had our return ferry cancelled on Sunday during that trip. What's the situation with reliability of ferries on Sunday now?

One bit of advice I received here was to call the ferry company(s) a day or two before to check their schedule.

Life involves risks, take some prudent ones (NOT with the BVI ferries)!

Yeah, we learned that in '12, not paying that water taxi fee again! The ferry then was cancelled for mechanical troubles (which was an ongoing theme on the threads here back then). Hoping that has improved...

Calling a day or 2 ahead does nothing because they'll simply lie to you. You didn't say when you were going, but the Road Town Fast Ferry has been decently consistent with the additional ferry for the season.
The Customs line at the airport will be your biggest problem. I'd get a porter to take you through if it's a zoo.

Preliminary plans are for June 7, leaving out of Sea Cow so RT works for us. We always carry-on and do not check bags and are very familiar with STT and the crush going thru C&I. Thanks!

The "additional" RTFF will be back up on the Cape by then, so I personally would get the earliest ferry you can. Further along in the day has a better chance of cancellation.

Thanks! Been MIA for a while, but we're looking to take a mono out this June. Had a bit of a "challenge" returning to STT on our last sail, 2 years prior to our villa trip when we saw you (repeatedly). <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />
