Has anyone here taken a cruise that ended in Phillipsburg or heard of that experience? Silverseas offers a cruise that starts in Barbados and ends on SXM. In all the many years that I have been reading this forum, I don't recall hearing of people doing this.

Haven't personally done it, but it sounds like a nice cruise. And, as far as I know, Wind Star has cruises that are home ported in SXM, or at least they used to.

Done it several times. It’s awesome to end there and then spend additional nights on SXM and the fly home

We have both done a cruise that began/ended in sxm and we took a cruise ship from Florida and left the cruise early in SXM. Fairly easy whether you are staying on SXM afterward or going straight to the airport.

If the cruise ends in SXM where does it go from there? Back to Barbados?

There are many options for island hopping on catamarans and sailing vessels. I enjoyed my solo cabin from sxm to guadeloupe sail (with a second week option further south before a transatlantic sail waving goodbye to the end of the season) and am looking at grenadines options for december/january. It's a lovely experience with daily tender to port. I recommend you explore this option without hesitation.

Some charters offer solo cabins such as Dream Charters out of Anse Marcel, I believe.

all the best

Next, the ship does a 7-day loop cruise that brings it back to SXM. Then it does a 7-day return trip to Barbados. Then it goes to Cartegena on another 7-day cruise.

TJTrippe--was that recently, that you disembarked early at SXM?? I wondered whether you can still do that. Years ago, we left a ship in STT, flew to SXM, stayed overnight there and met the ship the next day when it came to SXM. I would not do that now.

2018 Princess. As far as I know you still can. We told them at time of reservation. You still pay full cruise fare. You cannot rejoin at a later port.

We also didn’t overseas on a British Isles cruise (Princess as well). It was roundtrip to Southampton with the last stop being Le Havre where we hopped off permanently and stayed in Paris and flew home from there.

OK, thanks. I actually don't know whether the cruise line even knew that we hopped off in STT and got back on in SXM. This was quite a while ago. Probably couldn't do that now.

Many cruise lines offer voyages that end on a different island, usually so the itinerary isn’t so rushed. Personally, I think it’s great - more islands to experience.
