Hello ALL you TTOLers and Happy Friday - in 2020 I posted a similar questions about unique hotels with a view or special quality on STT.

That year we ended up at the Mafolie - as promised, the view was spectacular - but my wife did not enjoy the overall experience/accommodations as much as I did.

I do see all the positive reviews about Emerald Beach Resort (location/bar/beach/etc.), and that's certainly an option for us (2 adults 1 child)....but was hoping again to try something/anything a bit more obscure, unique, or special....I saw the 1829 hotel re-opening post too....Pink Palm is adults only...My wife is leaning towards the Ritz, but I don't see/read anything about that being worth the additional cost...I'm not opposed to staying there - it is vacation after all - but not sure it is worth double/triple what we might pay elsewhere.

I could see us hanging out at Magen's Bay beach for an afternoon or morning before returning to the states but there are very few options over there - I like the idea of being close to town or Red Hook too. Not opposed to a single night VRBO either...

I'll take any suggestions or thoughts from anyone willing to comment.....We used to fly into EIS and spend last night at Scrub...but in 2019 we moved to a new city and flight options/times are better routed through STT now, and I frankly just don't know the island as well as you all might so I'm seeking recommendations.

Have a great weekend!!!!

I stay at Emerald Beach each way and have always enjoyed it.Over time it has got better and more $$ but still reasonable for being right on the beach.I love the beach bar and the food has been getting better but I jump a cab to Frenchtown to dine..a treat for me to have the Etouffe at The French Quarter Bistro. My wife and I used to love dining at Oceana and I highly recommend that for a terrific romantic dinner and close to Emerald.I dont need a Ritz ..stayed in them in a few places in my time on someone else's dime..

We like Villa Olga in Frenchtown near the Waypoints charter base. We walk to Frenchtown Bistro or Twisted Cork or next door to fine dining at Oceana. It is boutique hotel quality on the water, not the Ritz.

Cheers, RickG
