Tuesday we spent the morning on Orient in Jose’s chairs again. The weather started out windy and just got windier. It was easier to be in the water than laying on the beach because the sand was just blowing straight into everything by lunch time. We enjoyed some morning swimming the. Packed up for lunch at Chez Leandra which was excellent. The jerk chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp hit the spot. Too busy enjoying for photos. Another afternoon in the pool and then on to Java in Grand Case for sunset cocktails. Java is an excellent place for drinks. They don’t really have a beach but they’ve done a beautiful job with their decor and flowers on the terraced outdoor seating. The sunset itself was kind of a wash because it was hazy but we enjoyed the space before heading over to La Villa for dinner. We had steak and duck for dinner which were both good. My favorite dish here every year though is the eggplant, walnut and goat cheese appetizer. Dessert is always their pistachio crème brûlée. Towards the end of our dessert, Mardis de Grand Case started and we enjoyed the band and dancers for awhile before meeting our cab driver for the trip home.

Thanks for the reports, the cocktail list looks great at Java (and a reasonable price), will have to try it in November.

Yes, I totally thought the atmosphere and quality of drinks were a great value for a Grand Case waterside experience.

It was really good. The garnish / side was pretty blah but it was all about the duck anyway.

Sounds like a great night. La Villa is a favorite, always great service. The Pistachio desert sounds delicious.
