Which beach club would you recommend for lunch, food and ambiance being top criteria. We like Coco Beach a lot, but looking for an alternative. Thank you

We love LeString. Jean takes great care of us on the beach and the food is reasonably priced and delicious. My wife loves the escargot when they have it. I like the burger and fries. Of course they put a bottle of rum liqueur on the table after the meal.

We favor Orange Fever especially when JC is there. His day off is Wednesdays. Comfortable padded chairs too.

We have had many great meals at Aloha. Lunch there becomes our main meal for the day. Their main clientele seems to be locals who go for their main meal at midday…always a good sign.

We enjoy Kontiki. Definitely not the cheapest but we love the French beach club atmosphere. The surf also seems a bit less on that end of the beach. The chairs have thick pads and are spaced out a bit more so it is not as crowded. There are 3 defined rows and if you want to be in the front, you will need to get there early or make a reservation. Sunday brunch is super popular and the restaurant can fill up so defiantly ressies on a Sunday but during the week it is not so bad even in peak season. They do have a dj on the weekends but the music is not loud, very chill during the day, fits the atmosphere. The beach service is excellent, the bar has just about anything you could ask for, and you can eat at your chairs or up at the restaurant, just let the beach staff know you want a table for however many at whatever time when you get there. Their sushi is great as is just about anything on the menu but the sushi is a highlight. Corto manages the beach service now, he is a great guy. Also the restrooms are well maintained.

Aloha + Kontiki but last time while at Aloha next door JOA did seem to have a nice ambiance/setting.

We really enjoy LaPlaya. The service is great, and the lounge chairs are clean and comfortable. The beach is wide in that area of orient, which allows for three rows of chairs, and we always sit in the front row closest to the water. The bathroom facilities are also well-maintained.

In our opinion, the best part is the sushi and sashimi – it’s always fresh and delicious. For those who aren’t sushi fans, they offer a full menu with plenty of options.

Yes la playa is nice. The other day while there I saw a couple eating a delicious looking quesadilla. And someone said their trigger fish is good.

I had the trigger fish at Orange Fever and thought it was excellent. For good local creole food, Chez Leandra can't be beat on Orient.

Thank you for the many recommendations. Having read, and agreed with many of Jazzgal’s food comments, we went with her suggestion of JOA. Thank you Jazzgal. Food and ambiance were both excellent, and love having toes in the sand while dining, so after a wonderful lunch, we booked a table again for next week. Delicious

We spent today at Orange Fever. It never disappoints. Mussels, pizza, Caesar salads, shrimp cocktail. I could spend the whole trip at that place to be honest.

Another one of our favorite places for lunch on Orient beach besides LaPlaya is Chez Leanndra!!! Zee and his wife Rochelle serve up homemade caribbean dishes and KILLER Drinks!! My avtar I'm holding on to one of those killer drinks, it's called: Royal rum punch!! Don't ask me how many rums make this drink! But so good!! Louise loves the lobster I've had the chicken, the beef jerk sandwiches SO GOOD!! Everything it homemade and takes a little while to come out!! Rochelle and the family will bring the drinks out quickly!! Bon appetit!! Photo: Louise scrapbook page

We tried Joa on our last trip and it was one of the best experiences we've had at Orient out of very many trips.

While we always go to Orange Fever, the nice part about Orient is you have a lot of choices, and I doubt there is a bad one in the bunch.
