Hi just renewed my wife's passport and am sharing experience because sometimes people ask about the subject. Did renewal by mail. Went to Fedex for photo no appt needed. filled out renewal form on line and printed it, attached photo, included check. Hint include persons name and date of birth who is applying on the check. I requested expedited service and express mail return. cost $ 211.36.... Mailed application on Feb 28 late afternoon and received passport yesterday March 17 in my regular mail.. not bad as that included three weekends and there was a one day severe weather delay. when you arrive in SXM with a brand new passport be sure to press it very firmly on the arrival kiosk because the new passports are stiffer...we learned that with mine in February!!

Wow, passport office must be taking longer now, that expedited service only comes in 17 days! We need to get ours renewed. Went to Walgreens and paid them to do pictures, and Passport office wouldn't accept them! Tried to re-do the pictures ourselves and still no go. We'll get it done eventually, I guess.

I did everything at our post office. Easy peasy.

I needed a renewal and my daughter needed her first. I filled out he paper work ahead and made an appointment (online) They will take the pictures, check you paperwork and send via priority mail. In and out in about 15-20 minutes.

Carol, I had problems with my Walgreens photos (even had them taken twice) and sent them by mail instead with a note as to why they were rejected. No problem. Mrs. Cruzer had no issues and used the on-line renewal.

Cruzer--well, I have no idea why my Walgreen's photos were rejected. And when I tried to take it myself, I got a note that said that my picture wasn't 'authenticated' . I have no idea what that means.
