We are staying at The Fourteen at Mullet Bay and are thoroughly enjoying our first time visit to St. Maarten. Our WestJet flight back to Canada leaves on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 18 at 3:10pm. We are meeting the Discount Car Rental representative to quickly hand over the vehicle at 12:45 at the departure drop off area. We are not checking bags and will proceed directly to Security and on to our assigned departure gate. Am I correct in assuming that this is sufficient time to allow? Thanks in advance for any help to this question.

They say they're proceeding directly to Security. They couldn't do that unless they're checked in online.

Well, yes, IF they have checked in online. They didn't say that they would be doing that. But I guess they wouldn't get anywhere with security without a boarding pass.

Thanks so much for the helpful replies. Yes we will be completing our check-in on-line prior to arriving at the airport and pleased that the timeframe allowed should be sufficient.

We stayed recently at Sapphire Beach club close to where you are staying. That is the correct amount of time to allow.

Definitely not the last visit. We have been traveling around the island a fair amount during our stay here and comparing the different areas. We are already planning a return visit for next winter and could see ourselves doing a long term multi-month stay in the future.

I, too, use Discount Car Rental and took the same WestJet flight on Tuesday, February 4th (pre-Daylight Savings Time). The flight departure then was 4:10 pm and I dropped the car off in front of the terminal at 1:45 pm and I had plenty of time. So 12:45 pm for a 3:10 pm departure will be fine.

It's one of a kind island. We found that out on our very first trip some 25 years ago and many multi trips a year!!! We have stayed at fourteen different locations from side to side. We found our "home" at Beachside villas some eighteen years ago!!! They are one of the sponsors on this forum. But funny, it's not how I found "BSV"!!! I would walk Simpson bay beach, see these "condos" villa's and report back to my wife Louise "FabiLa" and say: "I think those units are Condos!! She did some digging and here we are!!! You'll find your way to a place that suits you best!! See you on the island!! Safe travels!

The Beachside Villas look great! We are really enjoying The Fourteen on Mullet Bay. The views, 2 minute walk to beautiful Mullet Beach and close to amenities have won us over. We also enjoyed the day spent at Anse Marcel. Totally different french european vibe from the Dutch side but the quiet atmosphere was relaxing. Next trip we may split our time between the two locations as my wife is bilingual and really enjoys using her french language whenever possible. We have a trip back to France coming up in May/June that we are looking forward to as well.

Although many don't like the idea of The Fourteen even being built, I have to admit you do have a great view.

Yes, the view FROM there is great. The view OF it is not, in my opinion.
