Last evening we dined at our favorite restaurant in the island, Bistrot Carabies. Getting there from Simpson Bay was not fun. 90 minutes. Traffic crawled all the way.
Once there all our cares were washed away, We began with wine, a martini and their wonderful bread. For our appetizers we had the Hot Goat Cheese Salad with Smoked Duck Breast and the Endive Goat Cheese Salad. We loved both of them!
Entrees were the Filet Mignon and the Gratineed Veal scallopini . Wonderful!! I wanted to lick the plate. I loved the potatoes too! We finished with shots of Ginger Rum Love it!
We were there for the 1st seating at 6:30 and the place was packed. Perfect evening! The drive back home was a breeze.
Carol and Louise, the wine glasses were stemmed but the martini was served in a 2 part glass with the top part nestled in a bed of ice.
Geez, louise, 90 minutes to Grand Case? Wow. I'm surprised you weren't late for your reservation. I do love their warm goat cheese salad. Looks like a wonderful evening.
We knew traffic was going to be bad so we planned accordingly and were there by 6:115 instead of 6. We know that eating that early is not the French way, but we are early to bed and early to rise people.
We haven’t been there in ages. We keep saying we’ll go back, but we just don’t like driving from the Dutch side late at night. Thanks for sharing, and let me know about the martini glasses.
