Tuesday we opted to pass on the Mardi Gras celebration. Attended the GCBC mixer. Met old friends and some new ones. Lots of appetizers and a couple of glasses of wine.
I had previously erroneously posted dinner at Ti Coin Creole but that was Wednesday.
Thursday dinner l’auberge gourmand. Pascals sold this place to Chantal, formally of LeBistronome, and previous to that, Sunset. Ace at GCBC. She has kept the old menu and added a few new dishes
Don had onion soup and Dover Sole. Deboned table side, served with a lemon butter herb sauce. I opted for the veal stew. Chunks of meat served in a thick sauce with carrot and potato. Both were outstanding. We washed it all down with a bottle of Sancerre $149.
Friday we decided to try JAVA. A mistake. Due to rains most of the day they were not serving outside (understandably) so tables were squashed together. I actually bumped elbows with the man next to me since he was left handed and I am right. One veal dish included some bone slivers, don’s chicken Alfredo consisted of tough chicken, overcooked pasta and starchy sauce, with a bottle of wine bill was $136.
These were our evening meals. I’ll tell of our exciting days in another post.

Sounds like your dinners have been hit and miss considering your post on Mama's and this one. Hope it improves for you.
