0h Ya we met Wendell!! Just got out of the pool. Much needed as we just got off Tango. Haven't even looked at my pictures yet. I'm on recovery time. Story will come, I just don't know when.

We were at Divi for 2 weeks. Had 3 adult family members with us for the first week, one of whom had never been to sxm. She loved it! We loved the new arrival hall. Zipped through passport control, quickly retrieved our luggage and were on our way to pick up our car within 20 minutes. And on a Saturday! Unheard of. Although husband wasn't feeling up to par, we had our guests to consider. So visited the Mix at Divi. Much more reasonably priced than last year, and appetizers were good. Orient Beach for lunch at Kon Tiki, and Chesterfields for dinner on Monday. Subset Beach Bar and Emilios on Tuesday. Ocean 82 for dinner Wed. Phillipsburg for lunch shopping, then dinner at Roma. The 3 younger adults did snorkelling at Divi and Orient Beach, and didbthec12 meter sailboat race. The planned scuba diving didn't happen because the boat broke down. Friday we went to the Bird Farm - fun for all of us. Guests left Saturday. Husband I are not Beach people for various reason, and he needed to go to the Simpson Bay clinic Monday .(refer to my Need Advise thread). So we mostly took it easy the 2nd week. Did go to Skip Jack's and Greenhouse for dinner and Tortuga for lunch. And on Thursday wine tasting at the Mix at Divi.

It was my son and granddaughter who wanted to scuba dive - and I believe it was the one at Divi Little Bay resort.

That would have been Dive Adventures out of Divi and SBR. Good company. Have logged close to 300 dives with them. Too bad it was cancelled.

Two more days and we'll be on island, however, I haven't figured out how to post photos.

We have been on island for 11 days. Started off in Pburg for 2 nights. Had enjoyable dinner and breakfast at Holland House and a very nice lunch at Dutch Blonde. The next day we checked in early at OBBR. Received a very nice top floor unit in building 27. Then off to the airport to pick up guest for the week,my wife’s brother and sister in law- their first trip to St Maarten. While they were here we introduced them to Dawn Beach. Orient, Friars Bay ( had a nice lunch there) and Ance Marcel ( had outstanding lunch there). We also took them to Marigot for a quick tour to the Fort and walk through the cemetery. I know, strange, but sister in law owns a Funeral HOME. Had an enjoyable lunch at Tropicana. While they were with us we also ate at Ocean 82 at sunset- I know it received mixed reviews from some here, but it was our 6th time there and have Always had good service and food. We had an outstanding dinner at Big Fish. Great pasta at Mama’s Pizza and a decent dinner at OBBR. We also took a ride on the LAMBADA on Friday afternoon to watch the Regatta. I really think it’s the best $50 you can spend in SXM. Yesterday we dropped our guest off at the airport, picked up supplies at Super U and Checked in to our VRBO unit in Grand Case, Bleu Marina Residence- amazing unit on the beach in Grand Case. Spent to day on the beach and in the water. Perfect temps, great sand - not a rock or blade of seaweed. Tonight we have reservations at La Villa. Tomorrow at Bistros Caribes. Some general thoughts and comments (this is our first trip back in three years): 1) OBBR looks great as always and the staff is awesome, however with the huge increase in upgrade fees I think this might be our last stay there. We have owned an EOY unit for 27 years, certainly got our moneys worth and no regrets- but time to move on. 2) Happy to say other than Dawn Beach we haven’t run into any seaweed to speak of. 3) Marigot seemed to look in much better shape than 3 years ago. I’ll try and post one more time before we leave on Wednesday, but in case I don’t get to, I just want to say thanks to all those that post here. I always find it a good place to catch up before visiting SXM.

"we haven’t run into any releases to speak " What releases are you referring to and what is an EOW?

Corrected… have no idea how “seaweed” ended up as release and EOW was supposed to be EOY, or every other year. Thanks for the heads up

Hope you enjoy Bleu Marine - we stayed there the last two years - getting out of the parking garage was a two man operation for us ( My wife would have to stand on the sidewalk to let me know when the sidewalk and traffic was clear ) and manuvering in the parking garage also needed a helper outside the car, but it was much quieter there than the two airbnb's next door to Rainbow Cafe where we used to stay.
