A quick update from Thursday evening.

We went out on the Lambada, it was full and as usual, a good and loud time. It is amazing what some time on the boat and cheap rum can do for or to people. There were a couple of birthday celebrations, lots of dancing and a good time. While I enjoyed it, I much prefer doing No1SXM over a "sail" like this. We have a 22 year old in the group and he wanted to do this, but he also did the No1SXM and enjoyed that as well. They served an assortment of snacks, fruit (the pineapple was excellent) and bread and cheese. All the beer, wine and rum punch you wanted was offered as well.

We then had dinner reservations at Mark's Place and were meeting our local friend. Mark's Place (IMHO) is still one of the best overall deals on the island. Huge servings, reasonable prices, good food and a very large selection. My only knock would be the very limited wine selection, especially with the house wine being Barefoot label. Three of us had grouper, veggie pasta, mussels, and a rib and chicken combo. A couple of preparation alterations were asked for and accommodated. The grouper is pan-fried but a couple wanted it grilled, and it was done. Some of the scalloped potatoes were cold but that was taken care of, and everyone enjoyed their meals at a very reasonable price. It was good to see Rikki and Valda again as well. Mark was passing through, but I did not get to talk to him. Valda said business has been very good, as it appears at most of the established restaurants. No service charge added at Mark's Place.

I only took a picture of my pan-fried grouper and a couple of our group.

Off to Anguilla today.

I don't remember them offering any food on the sunset cruise before, but I could just be old and forgetful.

Mark's is a good deal, glad they fixed the scalloped potatoes for you, as I love their scalloped potatoes and their garlic bread.

WLE--OK, thanks. It's been a few years since I was on it, so it may have been different then.

You can bring your own wine unto Mark's. They have a $5 corkage fee.

In all our years of going to Mark's at least twice per trip, we have never experienced anything but fantastic food and good service. still the biggest ''hidden gem'' on the island. Prices, quality, and portion sizes can't be beat. I still love the Italian food they serve too. Just as good as most of the pricier and better known Italian restaurants on the island for a fraction of the price.

Can't go wrong at Mark's place!!! We've NEVER had a bad meal ever!! My only thing is that it's not in the most romantic location. But well worth it!!! As for those CAT night and day excursions. That gets a big pass from us!! I see them jetting across Simpson bay , so over crowded. Scares the hell outta me!!! NO THANK YOU!!!

Sand Gravity, got to love it!
