We went there several years ago around 6:30, and only one other couple were there. We had made reservations. Have not been back as we don't like eating almost alone. Perhaps things are different now, and we would like to try it again. Does anyone else eat early like us and know whether 6:30 is fairly busy enough to need reservations.

We prefer to eat early and did so the other night at Roma. Moulin Fou is just behind, and they had people there at 5:30. I was told by others that they were turning walks-in away as they were totally booked.

It's funny, I really don't care if there are other people in a restaurant when we eat or not, OTHER than it might be a reflection of the quality of the restaurant, if it is empty. Was your earlier trip during high season, or low. Low season, many restaurants are pretty empty. That's why we love going during low season. It's been my experience that eating early on the French side is often not possible, but usually no problem on the Dutch side. I will say that it is nice now to have some more true French restaurants opening on the Dutch side.

Thanks Rural. That is what we were hoping to hear. I think Moulin Fou was fairly new when we went, before Covid, and we always come during high season.
By the way we have reservations at Roma tonight with the family. Have not been there. How was it?
And Carol, we had to adjust all our earlier planned dinner locations because we had difficulty getting reservations on the day we requested, at 6:30. Thankfully we were warned as we have been coming here for 30 years and rarely ever had to make reservations.

Yes, we went the other night to Roma. A couple of the dishes needed a little extra attention but overall, it was good. At the bar only, they have a decent HH from 5-7. Last year I had filet mignon that was really good. I had scallops with risotto. It was good but shy on scallops and heavy on risotto.
I have not been to Moulin Fou for about 5 years, but it was always good.

Kit Kat--I'm not sure, but I think that Moulin Fou has been around for a LONG time.

Carol, you might be right. Perhaps we just never noticed it back there.

When Cherie's was there, some people avoided Moulin Fou because of the noise.

We were at Moulin Fou just a few days ago for 7 pm and they were packed!
