The secret fish place in Simpson Bay right before the bridge. We have visited it last year, it was very good. We went there today and it was still great! Our favourite was the whole snapper fish, grilled. We devoured that thing with all the yummy trimmings and even a garlic bread…. Was so good! Then we decided to check out the new bar right next to the ZeBest. I think it’s called Doxies. They have a live jazz music almost every day. Got a dessert- a passion fruit sherbet from France and it was delicious! Had few more drinks too, listen to the band. Was very nice! Forgot to mention - we went to the Moulen Fou yesterday and they didn’t disappoint us again! Food was great and service was very good too.

Good to hear you had a pleasant experience at Secret. Maybe things have gotten better since all the bad reviews.

Thanks for the report. Others have said the drinks at Doxies were expensive. Is there a cover charge?

it's called Dopsies. We poked our heads in there one night and listened to the nice live jazz and yes the drinks are very expensive. There was no cover charge when we were there but we hung out in the back and never sat at a table and it wasn't terribly crowded either.

Carol, the drinks were in a $14-18 range.not too crazy. I had a glass of Frangelico on a rocks and that was 15 bucks. I mean - they need to make money somehow since there is no cover charge. We also saw one table that was having some food and the plate looked pretty delicious to me….We actually thinking of going there for dinner maybe one day…

Yes, it’s called DOPSIES, my bad…
Today was a Tropicana night for us. That was awesome as expected, never a disappointment! The chef did me a huge favour and made me my favourite Suffle( pardon my spelling) dessert…..yummm. Nadej the owner was on top of the game as usual and was a pleasure to talk to. The food was awesome.

KGB--thanks.
Was that a Grand Marnier souffle?? That is my favorite, for sure. We used to go there for lunch on Saturday, as they used to serve it for lunch on Saturday (only). Lately, they haven't had it.

We had it at Tropicana a few years ago and then at La Cigal last year and La Cigal was better.

Yeah they used to offer it on every Saturday but Emmanuel the chef told us that he doesn’t have a good help nowadays so they don’t do it since it takes a long time to prepare. But we had a reservation and he said that if the kitchen won’t be too crazy he will make it. So he did and for a few others too. And yes it was grand Marnier soufle….….
