We started out today with breakfast at SMYC with a couple of Bloody Marys of course and some shopping at the Heineken Regatta tent in their parking lot. Then returned to SBR to leave our purchases in our room. On a side note Billy Folly road is the worst I've seen it in our 11 years of coming to SXM, pot holes so deep you have to stop and wait for a gap in oncoming traffic to go around the holes. Then off to D's Beach Bar to park said hi to the staff and started down the beach. A few impressive yachts in the bay, one in particular was Dragonfly, a 465 foot yacht owned by the founder of Google. I'm sure more will arrive by the time the Regatta starts. Not much to report on the new beach bar Babacool. It looks like it's ready to open and the pool is filled with water but there was nobody around to ask any questions about that. The beached sailboat is still a fixture on the beach and not going anywhere. Made our way back to D's for a few refreshments. More on that in my next post.
That bar looks more permanent than not and sailboat is slowly being devoured by the sand. Sand gravity at it's best. I read that Ds is now charning for chairs and umbrellas. Any truth to that? Great pictures. Enjoy tomorrow.
