Kudos to Island Birds Air Charter
Just got back - Chartered Island Birds from SJU to EIS
Somewhere in between our flight's ~ 400 lbs of allotted luggage weight and the "much more than that" luggage my wife and daughter brought along (big family) > the Island Bird Pilot said > ~ "That ain't gonna fit!"
Two phone calls later, they brought it over on a later plane / got it on a taxi to the Moorings / arrived later that day / no extra cost except the $15 we paid the taxi guy.
The flight was excellent / no one in line at EIS customs > here we go

We're using them for our July charter. Were you on the larger of their 2 planes? There 5 of us but we're on the larger plane both because of passenger weights (two of us are 6' 6") and the weight estimate I gave them for luggage.

9 person plane
Luggage was more of a volume than weight ordeal
We flew out of the San Juan airport near cruise line (not sju) -> ++ $$ savings

Yes we're doing the same. If I recall correctly it was $800 cheaper to fly out of Isla Grande than SJU. Also we coming back we would clear customs at Isla Grande which should be better than SJU.

We are fans of Island Birds and used them exclusively since Cape Air caused too much stress one too many times. Double check me but the past several trips, Island Birds on the SJU return took us straight to the FBO (private av) terminal where we cleared in with a C&I agent. From there, we were taken by van to the main terminal.

i asked when I booked if we cleared customs at Isla Grande or went to SJU and was told they had customs at Isla Grande so we would clear there. About the only downside is having 2, albeit short, taxi rides between airports.
I was a big fan of Cape Air until they got too expensive. One time the return flight from EIS to SJU got dropped from the schedule. Cape Air flew a special flight just for the 4 of us.
