We'll be staying at the Simpson Bay Yacht Club Marina Townhouses and Pizza Italy is right out our back door. We have walked by it many times in the past but never tried their pizza and would appreciate any and all reviews of this place. Trip Advisor had a lot of positive ones but would still like to hear this forums reviews.

I had read a lot of positive reviews, so we tried it, but were not impressed. Pizza was kind of blah. Service was very slow. Wouldn't go back.

We had a good experience there. Pizza is in the mouth of the taster. Try it. It's close by. What one person likes in a pizza another may not but for us it was a good experience last March. I too had read many positive reports so I figured to give it a try.

This place has always served me excellent pizzas - but often the wait times are not acceptable, it seems that walk-in seated customers get placed behind delivery orders. I've sat there for an hour before getting my pizza! The best option is to order and have them deliver across the road to the Soggy Dollar and then sit there, drinking, until the order arrives.

The taste is fine, but the meal serving speed is not very stable. Sometimes it takes about 20 minutes to wait.

We decided to try Pizza Italy. We phoned ahead and were staying close, so could just walk to pick it up, as they do not deliver. When we arrived at set time, we had to wait another 20 minutes, no biggee. The pizza was not very good I must say. Very thin sloppy crust and just not very much flavour. Could have been just that night, but probs will order from Dominos next time for delivery. They have an awesome pizza, just not the Dominos at the airport oddly enough....we ordered the small bbq chicken pizza at the Dominos in airport and we had one piece each and threw the rest away. So, ya never know....I always say, give it a try and go from there.

Sounds good. I'll go and have a taste when I'm free.

Pizza Italy is not opposite Soggy Dollar, that is Pizza and Co.

@Uksimonusa: My mistake - I was thinking of Pizza & co. and got them confused. I've only been to Pizza Italy twice and cannot recall anything positive or negative about the visits.

I've always enjoyed the pizza at Pizza Italy, but I agree that the service can sometimes be inconsistent. The flavours and style remind me of the pizza that I get when visiting Italy or of a good, wood-fired pizza at a decent Italian pizzeria restaurant at home. This year, the service was actually good, but I arrived a little later around 8 pm.
