People were commenting on how lousy D’s chairs and especially their umbrellas are. Just passed the Driftwood on my morning constitutional and happened to notice how nice the Driftwood’s are. Might be a good destination for a non or few cruise ship day. And the drinks and the banter around the bar are always fun. Especially when I’m there (a joke).

Strange. I have no problem with D's chairs or umbrellas.

Chairs are fine actually nice and sturdy. I did complain about the umbrellas on a slightly windy day they were just collapsing. But they have 3 sturdy umbrellas. The other sun things like a tent collapse as well in wind. But the chairs are fine 🤷‍♀️

Yes maybe I shouldn’t have used D’S to make a point but I was just commenting on how nice the Driftwood’s chairs with the cushions and full sturdy umbrellas are. Parking and the cruisers are another issue.

Tim--yeah, parking is the big issue for Driftwood to me. The view is wonderful, just don't like to hunt for parking.

Easy parking in the inside garage in Maho. Just have to walk a few minutes to driftwood.

I don't think I've ever paid more than $5 for parking there, and your car is parked in the shade!! Priceless.

The chairs at D's beach bar are only a couple of years old, granted no cushions and in good shape, but no one complains that "WAI" has no cushion either!! As for parking, I guess being from NYC area, we are use to walking, we very often park on Beacon Hill road., it's only a short walk to Driftwood!!!! https://ping.liveincam.com/test.php?id=5F4KLBX6

We were just at D’s Beach bar for the first time, no charge for beach chairs, $10 for an umbrella. The only umbrellas that didn’t stand up to the wind was the cheaper Tommy Bahamas. Driftwood now charges $35 for chairs and umbrellas. Last year it was$30 but you got two free beers. We are totally impressed with D’s beach bar. Less traffic, good parking and love the vibe.

We have only been to D’s once in Nov and were very happy with everything. At that time, there was no charge for chairs or umbrellas. Beach attendant/server was happy to add an extra umbrella for more shade. We went inside and had tuna tartare which was excellent. D’s is now on our list for upcoming visit in April. Definitely plan to have more food.

We went many times to D's both in May and July this last year. Granted we usually had the tacos on Taco Tuesday, which were excellent, the other foods being served at other tables looked great. Will be going again this coming May.

We didn't get there this past November/December, but we certainly enjoyed the food there the year before. Hoping the negarive comments on another thread weren't referring to D's.

As you know there are always differing opinions of food and amenities on this forum. I for one have always been satisfied at D's and it appears you have too. I will go with that and be returning in May.

We ate at D’s Beach Bar two days ago. No problem parking. We had grilled mahi mahi tacos and an Asian salad with steak—both were delicious. For a change, we sat at a table in the sand, which was very handy, as the tarp above us mostly shielded us from three quick rain showers.
