Hi everyone. Couple questions. We are flying into St. Thomas from Miami on April 18th with an arrival time of 10:40am. We are a group of 13 and will be taking a ferry over to Road Town to overnight at the dock on our charters the first night.
1. Will the 1:50pm RTFF give us enough time to get to the ferry terminal from the airport? 2. Should we book our tickets in advance?
That's plenty of time to make the ferry but with a group that large, I wonder if it would be cheaper to take a private taxi? Definitely more convient. Might have to take two boats

...I agree and have friends who spend $$ for the water taxi but I am quite happy with the ferry..memories of riding the Bomba Charger for the first time in 1984 ( and it was old then!) and getting the complimentary fruit juice topped up with rum..I save the $$ for food and drinks on island. I have always found a ferry running within an hour or two..and visit Michael upstairs at The Petite Pump Room and watch the seaplanes..tells me I am back in the islands..
When the Native Son emerged to challenge the Bomba Charger in the early 80s, charter boat captains were given free passage. I think that maybe I had to pay a couple of bucks for the landing fee. The understanding, of course, was that I would refer all of our pax to the Native Son. Captain Dean was a good guy, and a fine seaman. I had no problem steering our guests to Native Son!
