This is so unfortunate. It is a great event for many local vendors and the businesses in Grand Case.

Not CANCELLED, at least not yet, from that story, although sometimes the story loses a little in the translation. Hopefully they will be able to work it out.

When I clicked on this link I also saw an article about more police in Sandy Ground and Nettle Bay. Good to hear.

Have you ever had any issues in both locations ??

I used to go to an all night bar in Sandy Ground and was never bothered. Ok I speak fluent French, but Spanish is of more use there.

By the way, the crime rate in SXM is still a little more than a tenth of that in the USA.

Jeff, we've not had any issues driving through Sandy Ground but I know there were protests awhile back and it halted traffic. We've driven to Nettle Bay to a restaurant, Le Cigale, for dinner with no problems---except for that road from golf course on Dutch side through Terras Basses is horrible!

When the places we go to have shootings, my antennae go up.

Was never worried about scooter purse snatchers because we don’t carry much to snatch but when bad guys are drawing/shooting guns, we listen.

Same in the USA. Lot of places we dont go locally and nationally and when we drive through, antennae up.
