Oh no....sad news for sure. Are the waves still as strong as they were a couple of days ago? Condolences to the families involved.

Sad news. Big waves are nothing to mess around with.

So sad to hear this Lesley, Unfortunately we watched this unfold this morning on the Tortuga cam and the SSBB cam and we were hoping that he would be alright. The waves were not that bad this morning and there were plenty of people in the water. A man on shore by the waters edge was talking on his phone, when he noticed the man in the water he threw down his phone onto the sand and pulled the man to the shore. Two men and a woman began CPR immediately until the ambulance arrived. Our condolences to the family.

I was watching the cam also - this will stick with me for awhile. He seemed unsteady on his feet when he was at the water's edge, and he was sitting on the wet sand at the break when the cam came back to the beach view - he'd fallen or was knocked down. He was out of view for a bit after that, and then it happened. God bless the guy who saw him first and sprang into action, and those who helped with CPR and mouth-to-mouth. So sad for his family. Just awful.
