On January 2nd, my wife and I were early boarding our flight from Toronto to SXM and could have got in earlier. The Captain said SXM isn’t ready for us and now we have to wait 45 minutes on the tarmac. Then we had the deicing, more delays. As we approached SXM airport, they told us we couldn’t land and that there were six other planes ahead of us, so we had to tour the sea for about a half an hour round and round before landing. What a mess, our luggage was scattered on the three conveyors so people were so confused. We finally got to our room and have been sick since after five days.

Not a good start. I hope things improve.

I brought my wife to the Mayo Clinic, saw a doctor and she’s on antibiotics, we’re both still sick. Luckily, we’re here for two months.

We landed on the 2nd as well, we came in from Miami and were about 45 minutes late landing at around 4ish. We got jet bridge #4 and we were among the first off the jet, were the first and only people at the kiosk when we got there and there was about nobody near the baggage area, the emptiest I ever remember seeing it at arrivals.

Glad at least you have a long stay to look forward to. Hope things improve.

Unfortunate, tons of bugs going around Worldwide right now (Flu-RSV-Whooping Cough?!). Hopefully the rest/prescription works.

Actually impressed the airport could handle 6 large jets, a couple of months ago you probably would have been stuck in the airport for 6 hours!

Now that i think about it, i heard many large jets departing sxm... i picked up on it, never considering how these zillionnaires impact commecial arrivals.
