Some lunches out, first was O Plongeoir, very good foie gras and the special wahoo and sea scallops ceviche was fantastic. Always a must visit, right near the Marigot yacht club building.

Lulu’s Corner was a new one in cul de sac (on way to Anse Marcel) serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. Their version of poke bowl with fresh mahi was very good, along with a sort of detox green drink. Easy light and cheap lunch.

The Yule Log was from Sebastien Quillere and was the hazelnut version, very good albeit pricy, was pre order only for Christmas and 70€.

I love O'Plongoir for lunch, sitting in the shade watching people and boats go by. Last year we had some friends meet us party of 6. We gave them the grand tour then stopped at O'Plongoir but it was between lunch & dinner service but one waiter stayed to serve us now a party of 8. They treated us like royalty. When I said we were showing these people the best of SXM, the waiter chimed in saying, ".so you brought them to us. I know it's your favorite because you eat here twice every yearly visit so how could we turn you away?"

Of course we tipped him more than the amount included in the bill. Our friends we happy and said next time they came to SXM they would be sure to stop in.

There was a tip included in the bill on the French side?

There is never tip included, it’s “complete service” in France, so the prices of the menu include living wage ect.

Being an island sometimes they will have a line or say tips appreciated but it’s not like a requirement compared to US or Dutch side.

Leaving change or 5-10% depending on service is okay.

Linda French side usually has serve complete, as erb923 stated "a living wage" then if the waiter did something beyond expectations one leaves a pour boîte , a little bit more if you wish.

When we dined at La Cigale last year we had parked across the street and hubby happened to ask if that was okay. Waiter replied "mon dieu mon ami is not good, I will move the voibure for you." And he did , so hubby gave him a $10. happy to not have to walk again to move the car. Then after we ate we added a bit more to the bill.
