I still have questions regarding the Priority Pass. I have the AMEX Reserve card. Do I have Priority Pass? If I do have Priority Pass do I have it automatically or do I have to separately apply for it from the Priority Pass people? Assuming I do have Priority Pass can I use it to access the SXM “Executive Lounge” just by showing them the AMEX Reserve card?

Since there seems to be a lot of confusion on this, I personally would make a couple of calls to AMEX customer service for clarification.

I did not find it to be clear in doing some research, hence the suggestion for calling.

When we left on Saturday I looked into the Executive Lounge at PJIA. Yes, they do have a Priority Pass sign right at their check in desk, but when I asked about it she told me that currently (as in Saturday afternoon) they had no PP space available. Everything was reserved for KLM/Air France.

Just a FYI so that you know on a busy day PP probably won't get you into to PJIA's Executive Lounge. Cash wouldn't get you in Saturday either.

Interesting. You can't even pay to get in? Weird.

I think if it's at seating capacity paying wouldn't be an option especially if KLM and Air France had it all reserved.

I think the statement was meant to state, we are not accepting priority pass because we are at capacity. This often happens where Priority Pass uses an airline lounge that has an agreement with PP but they take care of the actual airline members first, and this case the paid first. I have seen PP get refused at the Alaska Airlines lounge at LAX but I was able to enter as a member.

That at least is my guess.

I prefer the Isle seat

Even one day passes at Alaska Air lounge are only available if space permits. States that on their website.

Yes, the American Express® Aeroplan®* Reserve Card offers access to Priority Pass lounges. To utilize this benefit, you must enroll in Priority Pass. Once enrolled, you can access participating lounges by presenting your Priority Pass card and a same-day airline boarding pass. Alternatively, you can use the digital membership card available through the Priority Pass mobile app.

Todd, yes, absolutely correct.

She even went so far as to say "all those chairs you can see are reserved for KLM/Air France". I'm guessing she added that since it didn't seem overly full when you looked in and perhaps she'd been questioned on it previously.

I found it interesting because this is the first I had heard of any airlines having made an arrangement at the PJIA lounge for their (presumably FC/Business) customers.

Lou Travels, it looks like the minimum charge for joining Priority Pass is $99. That doesn’t make sense for me if the SXM lounge charge is $60 and I can use the Delta lounges for free in other airports. Or is the fee lower if you have the AMEX Reserve card?
