We didn't want too much for dinner tonight. D's Beach Bar had a Chef's menu, 3 course dinner which would have been too much for us, so we decided to go to Roma's for Happy Hour and have appetizers. First of all, let me say the service was top notch. We ordered 3 appetizers and we wanted some bread with our order. When our 2 freshly baked rolls were gone, they were replaced with 2 more, and because the Focaccia bread just came out of the oven, our waiter added a 1/2 dozen squares of that to the basket. We ordered Korean Wings, Panko Shrimp and Veal Meatballs and just 2 of the 3 would have been enough for us tonight and the rest we brought home in a bag with napkins, forks, spoons and knives. All of the appetizers were delicious.
I should also mention that because of a current thread on TTOL , no S/C was added to the bill, so we tipped more than 20%.
Scubaman - Funny thing is that the places that don't add a 15% Service charge to ensure their staff get a tip are the places that provide the best service
i will def support Roma a few times this vacay. I have been tempted in the past and went to Moulin Fou (10%? Sc) with impeccable food and service so I added a thank you.
Over the next couple days, i will suggest Roma to my friends.
Keep up the updates, i may follow in your footsteps.
Those apps definitely looked wonderful! We probably been to Roma only two or three of times, but the times that we have been there, the service and food have been excellent.
I had the burrata salad with the Korean wings. Both were delicious and the wings were huge. I also got a free smoked Manhattan cocktail as the bartender was experimenting. Needless to say a generous tip was included.
Just an FYI for those who want to go to Roma for happy hour and the appetizer menu, the appetizer menu only applies to the sitting area around the bar, including the few bar tables which are across from the bar. It is a nice environment sitting in that area. There are TVs up, etc.. If you are seated in another area of the restaurant, the appetizer menu does not apply. Appetizers are from both Mr. Chow and Roma. All the appetizers are good and the prices have not changed for the last 12 months.
Michael and I went to Roma based on a lot of reviews here. It was amazing. Michael had the tartufo pasta while I had the gorgonzola gnocchi. Both delicious. And service was TOP TOP notch. What an upgrade from Cheri's.
