After our travel day on Saturday I can say we slept very well that night. I don't like travel days either way. Sunday morning we drove to Simpson Bay for our official start of vacation, breakfast at SMYC which started with the mandatory Bloody Marys. I found a little island on Welfare Rd where I parked our new rental car from Kenny’s. Perfect size car for the island. We then headed over the causeway to Carrefour for supplies and the traffic was good, but I know that won't last. They were selling Christmas Trees out of a container in the parking lot. For a 6 to 7 foot tree the price was $95 and for a 7 to 8 foot tree the price was $125.
Back to Maho to unload the supplies and walked up Jewels and Beyond to drop off my wife's ring that I bought last trip ( Thanks Carol ) to have a small diamond replaced that fell out. The owner said the ring would be repaired at no charge and then gave us 2 hats. I know I'll pay for the hats at some point this trip. I told him you should have embroidered "Bring you Visa Card " on the hat. He liked that.
The rest of the day we enjoyed some sun and pool time at La Terrasse before walking down to the Driftwood for a pizza for dinner and a Rum Punch. A nice perk to staying at La Terrasse is that our room key card will open the washroom doors at Tortuga. Much nicer than the outhouse at Driftwood. We took a few pics along the water and pics of their Christmas and New Years menus.
Today we will have breakfast at The Deli in Maho and then drive down to D's Beach Bar for my favorite activity, walking Simpson Bay Beach for a few hours then lunch at D's.
Whale Tail, we arrive on January 2nd for two months. Maybe we could meet up for a beverage at some point, not sure how long your staying. Love the pics. Can't wait to get there.
