Has anyone been to the new lounge at the airport? Wondering about the food.

bethandsteve posted the following about 10 days ago "We were there last Monday. It is limited to 1 drink per person but the food was unlimited. It is buffet style so it would be hard to limit. The real disappointing thing was that no one was cleaning up. The men's restroom had paper all over the floor. The seating area had used dishes on most tables. There are 2 bars..1upstairs and 1 downstairs. There was no bartender at the upstairs bar."
(The comment about one drink per person was in reference to those getting free entrance with Priority Pass.)

I was there last week. I had two-plus hours to kill and was on vacation, so what's $60? LOL
If anything, the people cleaning plates up were TOO fast. There was one time when I got up from my chair and wasn't done with the food but poof! Gone before I returned. The food was plentiful but nothing to write home about. I didn't go upstairs so have no knowledge of that. Women's restroom was clean. I didn't have anything alcoholic so can't address that but had several bottles of water. I would use it again as it's much more pleasant than the cattle call at the gates.

Glad to hear they have gotten the cleaning crew in order. What kind of food did they have?

Couple of stews, finger sandwiches, can't remember everything as I wasn't interested in most of it.

I believe a weirdly large selection of Chinese food. Not worth the money unless you have a long time to wait or have access via priority pass.

Mercy, food doesn't sound good. 120 a couple is pretty steep for stews, soups and finger sandwiches. I'll get my food and drinks on the plane. Waiting an hour or so in the airport isn't really bad enough to warrant the cost.

So, it was quiet. Food was uninspired. Bartender was very nice. The cleaning people must have taken the day off. We got in on Priority Pass so didn’t pay for it. It is more peaceful than the terminal but I wouldn’t want to have paid for it. Our next lounge experience the same day was Ethiad in Dulles and it was lovely. Very different experience.

JimandBeth--you were not the only ones who reported a lack of cleaning up after people. But I guess they have resolved that situation. Overall, still does not seem at all worth $60 a head.

I still don’t understand what a Priority Pass is. I have an AMEX Reserve card. Does that mean I have Priority Pass?

I just checked as I have the delta Amex reserve business and it does not include priority pass. It definitely comes with the Amex Platinum and the Chase sapphire reserve. I play the credit card game and have been able to recoup my costs every year. But it’s exhausting!!!!! PP gives you lounge access at almost all airports. It will get you into sxm. Prior to Irma I think the cost was 45pp and we probably used the lounge 5 times. PP includes you and a guest usually.

Our Priority Pass is a benefit of Chase Saffire Reserve.

i’ve had the CapOne Venture X for several years now, and it works well for me…basically doesn’t cost me anything per year, and it provides Priority Pass membership as well as entry to CapOne lounges and other decent travel benefits
