..is Omar's brand new restaurant and bar in West End ( Soper's Hole).Turning left off the main road to go over the bridge the place is on your right with an electronic gate.At the moment it is only open for dinner and drinks at 4 pm..but boy is it great.Knowing how Omar had had to "leave" his old place I thought this would be some ramshackle popup..but it is GREAT. He has already built a stage and little dining tables outside and kept much of the old menu of great Indian and US food ( I love his chicken vindaloo). It is also the new home of the "Loyal" West End Yacht Club. I would encourage everyone to check it out and he has big plans for the future with a bar right on the water and a dock.Great to get something new and wonderful down here..

Correction..it is Omar's Sand Spit ( I think, being a bar on the sand Sandbar's a better name but there you go..still a great place)

Apparently, a not atypical island landlord/tenant dispute, culminating in Omar arriving one day to find the parking lot blocked by boulders. We drove down there at the end of October and the boulders were there, but nothing else.

...and all Omars' kitchen ware and booze is locked inside along with all the merchandise for the West End Yacht Club.It is all involved in a legal mess now but that is why so many of us want to support Omar and his great new place and the West End Yacht Club ( its only $20 a year to be a member and get discounts at Omars!!!!) .I will be there at 4 today to hang with Melody and Tony and probably stay for a curry!
