Hi all! We're headed to Orient for the first time in several years. In the past I generally rented a car from Kenny's. I really hate driving there. I was thinking of using taxis this year. We don't move around a lot there - SXM to Orient Village, go to Phillipsburg one day, maybe Marigot one day, and back to the airport at the end of the week. How is taxi service on the island? Reliable?

Thanks for your insights!

Like you, we always rent a car from Lesley Bruce, but as of the past year or two we find it convenient to take a taxi on occasion, particularly to go into town or to some dinner spots with limited parking. The legit cabs have all been good on the service end and reasonably priced but we still rent a car for most of our travels where traffic and parking are an issue. 🙂🙂

Respectfully,

pat

davethel, have you chosen your hotel yet? If not, GCBC has a free excursion to Phillipsburg, once a week, 2 or 3 times a week to Super U, and free (if you are an oncore member, also free to join) shuttle nightly to town for dinner, back and forth. Or you could walk to town. Just a thought.
