Priority Pass is a lounge membership that is not specific to an airline but accepted at some airline airport lounges or in this case a lounge that also does not have a specific airline associated with it. Usually membership comes along with another premium membership that you have or with a premium credit card such as American Express Platinum. I had it years ago and don't recall why I was allowed to be part of it but now I am with the Amex Platinum Card.
Boy, that's pretty useless. One drink and no food? Although it says "ala carte" menu is extra. So I guess maybe they have a buffet, plus stuff you can order ala carte?
Still looks like they think this place is "all that". Can't imagine there are many people in there.
I was looking forward to the lounge for our departure this trip now that they have PP associated with the lounge, then remembered we are exiting through Anguilla to the US. Laughing at myself, but will enjoy a bit of time there in January on our next trip. Not surprised that they limit benefits to those that have PP rather than paying, they probably get a lot less for allowing PP members. I know that at some US lounges like LAX the PP members have a low priority if an airline lounge is getting close to the max passengers allowed.
We were there last Monday. It is limited to 1 drink per person but the food was unlimited. It is buffet style so it would be hard to limit. The real disappointing thing was that no one was cleaning up. The men's restroom had paper all over the floor. The seating area had used dishes on most tables. There are 2 bars..1upstairs and 1 downstairs. There was no bartender at the upstairs bar.
bethandsteve--I guess you used the Priority Pass and didn't pay yourself? But wow, that is really disgusting, can't imagine if you're paying $60 a head and there were dishes all over and the restroom was a mess. And still, one drink is really cheap shotting it, as alcohol is DIRT cheap in SXM.
For those that have PP it is free with the membership other than what you decide to add on, that doesn't suck. What does suck is that we still have people that won't bus their own dishes or won't leave areas clean when they cause the issue, that is sad.
Carol, alcohol is not that cheap on island any longer, that ship has sailed. We have some of the highest liquor taxes in the US in the PNW and I don't find liquor that much less than what we pay at home. I do remember at Peg Leg many years ago the bartender pouring Absolute Vodka on the bar and using it to clean, stating that it is less expensive than cleaner. Miss the $5.95 liter of Absolute.
Todd--going to agree to disagree with you on the 'bussing tables' business. Any place that charges $60 for people to enter should hire someone to bus tables. If there's not many people there, it's their fault for charging too much. And cleaning the restrooms? Ick!
You could be right on the alcohol question. Guess I just haven't been paying that much attention.
Paid 9.95 per liter for Absolute this last May. Booze is still much cheaper in SXM than WA State by the bottle depending where you shop. About the same per drink in a bar.
