A couple of photos taken earlier this week at SXM arrivals. A picture of the arrival passport kiosks. These are the machines you put your passport in to verify who you are. It also compares with the information you have already entered online. This is considered immigration. There is no print out, but there are people to assist you. Tells you whether to proceed through the immigration gate or to go to an immigration officer. Second photo is of the New luggage area with three carousels. After picking up your bags, if you have checked bags, you will proceed to customs where you may or may not have your bags x-rayed.
Lastly, I included 2 sunset photos from last night, November 21.
We arrived from Charlotte yesterday, a bit late and right behind the Miami flight. We parked a good distance from the terminal, had a ramp to exit the plane, and took a bus to the terminal. As soon as you enter, there's a flight of stairs to go down; I didn't see a ramp or elevator for wheelchairs, but there may be one. The lines to use the kiosks moved quickly, and our passports scanned without issue. They're using facial recognition, so after clearing immigration at the kiosks, you go to another station where your face is again scanned, and then on to baggage claim. Our one checked bag came off in minutes, and we were on to the exit doorway, where the customs officer looks at you and your bags, and decides whether or not you're a problem. He said he could tell it wasn't our first visit (not sure how) and we were free to exit. Our ride from Triple AAA was there moments later, and we were off. The quickest we've gotten through the airport maybe ever.
