Hello everyone.
One of my favourite meals is a Lobster Tail and Filet Mignon......Since coming to the island approx almost 20 years now, I have yet to find a dining place where I can order this. Usually for lobster it is either a complete lobster (too messy for me, lol) or Lobster Thermidore which I am not fussed on. So,,,just curious if anyone knows of a place that would serve this. (kinda similar to the Keg's option in Canada) I have seen surf and turf but it was with shrimp and a filet mignon.
My preference for sure would be Lobster tail and a yummy filet mignon.
As always, thanks for your input.

I would contact Bistrot Caraibes to see if they could accommodate you for this.

My guess would be Skip Jack's, I think you need to find a place that has Maine lobster not local.

I prefer the Isle seat

Keeping in mind, plain lobster is not mentioned on the menu

Pineapple Pete's does offer a surf and turf reasonably priced but with lobster thermidor
They have been very accommodating with special requests making food items not on the menu when possible
so maybe they would prepare a plain tail

they used to have a mahi mahi ceviche on the menu and they have made it upon requests a few times for us

In Orient Bay, check out L’Astrolabe. They usually have a surf n turf special every Monday night.

Greenhouse serves lobster tails and you can add the steak you want.

This was surf and turf at the greenhouse in Simpson Bay, September 2023.
Had to ask for it. There was two of us so we were able to make it work.
So it can be done.

I will second L'Astrolabe, we were just there Monday, reservation a must as they were quite busy. We have been there several times but not for surf and turf. I tried the combo and it was very good. Very nice jazz singer and very pretty setting around the pool.

wow the Greenhouse??? We will be staying directly above at the Sol Y Mar, couldnt get much handier than that. I will definitely be making a request to see if they can accomodate my self and my husband. Skip Jacks would not,,,and lately they only have had really big lobsters, which were pretty tough eating. I have never been to Jax, but have always wanted to try it out.....also I did ask at Pineapple Petes, and the server just told me, no, we dont have just Lobster tails....so honestly I never pursued it. So, there are options,,,,thanks for the feedback, love it. Waiting patiently for Jan 2025

Be sure and go on Lobster night at the Greenhouse. You can order what size tail you want and add the steak of your choice.

Scuba is 100% Correct on that suggestion.
Tuesday or Friday night is Lobster mania.

Can't imagine paying $66.00 a pound for Caribbean lobster and I usually have no food budget as my wife says

Last night went to an all you can eat Maine lobster buffet for only $38.95
yes small lobsters (probably one pounders from Maine) but each yielded about a three ounce portion of tail along with some knuckle and claw meat

I also get spoiled with a yearly visit to Maine where whole lobsters started out at about $6.99 a pound this summer

But you are on vacation, so do enjoy

did enjoy Greenhouse except for the outside temperature

I might get some blowback for this but I tried the prime rib at The Greenhouse in August. It was ok, pretty basic, not a lot of flavor. The johnny cake was excellent. I doubt I would order the prime rib again. I have never had lobster there so I cannot comment on that.

Personally, I would go with Jax and their filet and lobster tail. While I really enjoy their beef short rib, I have had excellent filets there several times. You could actually try both places and give us a comparison.

Many restaurants near where I live have taken prime rib off the menu due to inconsistency in quality. Prime rib can be either really good, just ok or less than desirable. It depends on the quality (most would not be "prime" but "choice" or lesser grade) and preparation has a lot to do with it.

Good luck.

I have always had very flavorful and tender PR at the Greenhouse. They do serve prime grade but you have to realize there are different grades within choice and prime on the upper end and lower end of each grade.

I had the prime rib at the Greenouse in Simpson Bay tonight and it was delicious! It was flavorful, solid meat and cooked to perfection. In fact it was one of the best roast beef dinners I have enjoyed. Sorry you were not as pleased with your prime Rib. I have never had a bad meal there. I might try their lobster night soon.

Do let me know what you think of the lobster if you happen to try it. We love the greenhouse, and like I said pretty darn handy to where we are staying. Jax is also some place that I have not tried, so it's def on the list.
Love , love all the info on this forum,,,,nice to keep up with whats happening on the island.
Cheers!

Jax is a first class place. That would be my pick.

Le Pressoir in Grand Case has Surf and Turf on their menu. I noticed it when walking by their restaurant last week.

It’s 95 Euro, but I’m sure it’s excellent.
