Five of us are flying into Beef Island on Tuesday. I have always taken the ferry over from St Thomas. Customs is always slow and depending on where you are in line getting off the ferry, it can sometimes take an hour to clear.
Wondering if the airport is slower, faster or the same to clear customs. And do they take the time to go through your bags?

In our experience it is faster off the plane than off the ferry. There is a new online immigration website that promises to further speed the process.

The airport has always been much faster than the ferry. I suspect that’s in part due to volume. With American adding more flights that could change.

Customs was super easy and fast for us this summer. It jams up for a couple of minutes but it's not bad at all.
