Tuesday was a hot and humid, ideal day for a trip to Orient Beach in front of La Playa Beach. We hit some traffic on the way through Marigot due to construction, a brief sprinkle of rain upon arrival didn’t dampen our spirits—the rest of the day was bright and sunny.

While the beach boys provide excellent service right on the beachfront, we prefer to take a lunch break in the newly renovated dining area. The upgraded bar has plenty of seating, and new wooden structure with decorative lighting enhances the dining experience. We indulged in sushi, ordering sashimi and several specialty rolls.

The bathrooms were clean, and the restaurant service was just as attentive as it was on the beach.

After lunch, we stopped at SMYC for a cocktail before heading back to relax and prepare for dinner with friends.

For dinner, we chose the Spaghetti House. I enjoyed the penne pasta Fra Diavolo with shrimp, while David had the evening’s special spaghetti with chicken and spinach in a creamy sauce. We paired our meals with two glasses of wine and received a complimentary shot of limoncello, with no service charge added.

Louise--thanks for the report. Glad you were able to convince David to go up to the restaurant for lunch. As I have said before, we always do that at a nice restaurant. I can eat chicken and ribs at Rosies' at my chair, but if it's a nice lunch with a glass of rose', I much prefer eating at a restaurant table.

I always look forward to your trips. Your food choices keep giving us more ideas. We will be staying in Orient Village in three weeks and will need to hit La Playa.

That spaghetti looks wonderful. Hoping to add Spaghetti House to the list in January!
