We recently learned that L’Auberge Gourmande had been sold. The new owners are Alexandre and Chantal, owners of Le Bistronome.

We wish them well in their new endeavors!

It's located on Grande Case Blvd, ocean side, directly across from the municipal parking lot.

Are they going to close Le Bistronome or run both restaurants?

Thanks for the info.... We've visited Le Bistronome every year since they opened and loved it. Glad to know where to find them in January!

Thanks. We just don't go to GC any more for dinner. Don't like that drive at night back to Simpson Bay.

L’Auberge Gourmande was one of our favorites. We were considering Le Bistronome next month based on people’s reviews. Looks like we will definitely be making a stop at L.B. I wonder if they will keep any of the existing staff, service has always been excellent.

I’ll try to get more information from Chantal in early November. We’re renting an apartment in their home in Grand Case.
I hope L’Auberge Gourmande will be open and under their ownership when we visit.

When staying on the Dutch side, we no longer travel up to Grand Case for dinner anymore either.

But for the last couple of trips we’ve split our time between Grand Case and the Dutch side. It’s worked out well for us, and even moving day was not a big deal.

Here's 3 of the main pages of L' Auberge Gourmand's current menu. Mostly L' AGs previous offerings. We enjoyed our meal there and they seem to be doing well. They have staff from both restaurants and double the capacity. Chantal did say they will be moving to 2 seatings, one at 5:45-6:45 and another beginning at 8. Sorry about the orientation of the menu pages.

Thanks for the menu but I will miss the lamb en croute that they used to do at Bistronome, sad to see that place close, we enjoyed every visit there.

Dave,
We enjoyed some wonderful meals at Le Bistronome, and are hoping that Alex will eventually incorporate some of his fabulous entrees into his new restaurant. Time will tell...

Thanks. I had completely forgotten that they had sold L'Auberge Gourmande and opened La Villa years ago! Like others our age, we rarely get to Grand Case for dinner anymore.

It's been a long time, but wasn't there a restaurant in Cupacoy on the street next to La Gondola named L'Auberge Gourmande. I don't remember the name of the owner but he also had control of Sunset in GC?

Auberge Gourmande has been in Grand Case for a long time, at least back into the 90's.

At that time it was also owned by whomever owned L"auberge. I remember speaking with someone who said it was easier to bank on the Dutch side with a place on the Dutch side. Yes, it was an amazing restaurant offering a taste of Grand Case restaurants without having to drive to GC and park at night.

We had dinner at L'Auberge on their opening night. They were very busy. It was quite hectic for them, but they handled everything very well. All the previous kitchen staff left when it was sold, as well as all the wait staff except for Jennifer who really gets things together and moving. Carlos came with them from Le Bistronome (& previously with them at Sunset Cafe at GCBC). All our meals were very good and even though we didn't have room for dessert, we saw some awesome offerings coming from the kitchen. We wish Alex & Chantal well, as well as wishing Pascal a very happy retirement!

RonDon and SANFILIP, you guys have amazing memories. I tip my hat. The only thing I remember about the restaurant in Cupacoy was the owner writing his name on a business card for one of the restaurants in GC and telling us to come to GC for dinner and he would buy us a drink. I used the card at one of the places but don't remember which. No trips for us anymore to GC either.

Can't wait to return to L"Auberge. It was the first meal we had on our honeymoon. Last year we returned along with photos from 44 years ago. That got us free drinks.

Loved Le Bistronome. Recognized Chantal from Grand Case Beach club Sunset Cafe. Do I understand correctly that LeB is no longer open now that they bought L"Auberge? I'm in the process of deciding where to eat in March and I already had L'Auberge and LeB on my list.

In talking with Chantal, she said that L’Auberge Gourmande was only the only location open right now and that "The bistronome stay closed for the moment". I gathered from the chat that there might be near future plans for both to be open.
