Came in through the new arrival area this morning on JetBlue from JFK. On my flight and when we arrived at 11:15 AM. There were 16 electronic kiosk’s each one had someone to help you scan your passport and assist those who needed to fill out a questionnaire at the kiosk. We had successfully submitted the form prior to arrival so once our passports were scanned, we were on our way to the carousel to wait for our luggage. Waiting for the luggage took about 20 minutes and then we were on our way.. The new arrival area is well air conditioned.

Bathrooms are available prior to going through immigration as well as in the luggage area.

If you have to go to see a passport control officer, your passport will be stamped. Otherwise once you’ve entered through the kiosk, there is no stamping of the passports.

Was up very early for the flight so I’m tired. I hope this is making sense.

That would be really nice Linda but I’m not sure we have the time we leave two days later and have some commitments ready for those last days but if you’re flexible, I can always contact you and see if we can meet up for a cocktail

The island looks very green on the cameras with little to no seaweed, how is it in person?

Getting brown now from lack of rain, but no seaweed problems.

Am I the weird one who will miss getting their passport stamped? I love all my SXM and AXA stamps. I miss getting them when I come back to the US. smile

No, you're not weird. I love seeing the stamps in mine. ...which reminds me that I need to send it in to be renewed. We're not going anytime soon, but need to get it done anyway.

I believe you can still request to go to the old fashioned immigration line and get a stamp if you actually wanted one.

Not sure it's worth standing in line for, but I will kinda miss those stamps.
