Glad they got it fixed, but no sh*t, this is what happens when you have the power problems that they have with GEBE. Not only does the power go out, but it causes failures of machines that are connected to the power, because of power surges, etc. Where was it, Royal Islander, that the power surges destroyed their a/c unit?? And I'm sure, thousands of other machines all over the island.

Yes the Gebe power surges killed many of our appliances including our pool pump.
The good news is it can all be replaced… Still love SXM…

Every piece of electrical equipment that I own, with the exception of the very cheap and easily replaceable ones like my toothbrush, are on a surge suppressor. Whole-house surge suppressors aren’t that expensive, and have cheaply replaceable components which are designed to fail and protect everything beyond them.
