We head home today so final report will be from there. Meanwhile ---

Day 7, Sunday: Plane Spotting
Normally we enjoy going to church at the little Catholic Church in Grand Case. It was heavily damaged by Irma but was being restored and was open for Sunday business last year. The reconstruction continues and we were (wrongly) told by a construction worker earlier in the week that no services were being offered. So we went off to Marigot. Beautiful church, big choir and enthusiastic priest, Mass mostly in French. Afterward we decided it was time to watch some planes land so it was off to Sunset Bar and Grill. Service was good as was the food (ribs, coconut shrimp and Guacamole). A fair number of planes came in, including AA, United (I think), Westjet and a couple of smaller Winair planes). I’m glad we were not in the arrival area. Dinner was back at Quai 58 for more Tapas, with transportation courtesy of a GCBC shuttle.

Day 8, Monday: Orient Again
It was a beautify beach day so we were off to the Club O beach again. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. A few more under the yellow umbrellas with a short line at happy hour. Not much more to say about that. Dinner was at Korner in Grand Case. There was a big birthday party going on, which might have contributed to somewhat slow service. I had parmesan ravioli and wife had a lobster cub sandwich. Both were very good. We were seated right by the water for a great view. Once again we used the shuttle provided by the hotel. We are “encore” members so the shuttle is free. It also makes trips a couple of times a week to the nearly Super U supermarket.

Day 9, Tuesday: Winding down
We spent the morning n the GCBC beach, a perfect place to relax. Lunch was at Rancho Del Sol with my wife had its great views of Orient Bay and its peacocks. The birds were quiet, unlike the last time we were there when the squawked their heads off. This time they just pranced about looking for handouts. I had a flank steak cooked perfectly and my wife had a big plate of burrata and tomatoes. There was another guest mixer again with very low turnout. That gave us a chance to spend time with the relatively new manager of GCBC. She took over in January with the retirement of longtime manager Steve Wright. I’d give her a pretty high score for the job she’s doing. GCBC remains a real jewel.
