With NFL games kicking off this week…what sports bar would be good to catch a game and have a couple of drinks? Good appetizers a plus. Ambience a must…especially for Dolphins and Giants fans! Your suggestions/recommendations are appreciated.

I’m not sure where you are staying, but 3 Amigos in Maho has multiple TVs on sporting events. You can sit at the bar or at a table and get something to nibble on.

Dinghy Dock would be my suggestion. We have watched NHL and College Football there. The best beer menu on the island.

We’re staying at Fryar’s Bay but can drive to have a good time with friendly people. All the suggestions I believe are on the Dutch side, not many choices (if any) for bars on the French side. 3 Amigos sounds like a place we would enjoy…it seems to be somewhere in the middle of bar/restaurant. Thanks

In Grand Case there are a couple of places. Rainbow, Captain. Frenchies, Quai come to mind. Grand Case Beach Club has a small restaurant/bar on a peninsular named Sunset Cafe. Great sunset views.
Anse Marcel (beyond GC airport, left at the rotary then left again) has a beautiful beach but the places to eat there are expensive and not really bars. But worth a visit.

The good news is my team won!!! Go Dolphins!!
The bad news is it was a strike out kinda day!
We decided on 3 Amigos, it was about 12:55 when we got there. It was pretty much dead and the girl at the bar was lethargic at best. Only the 2 tvs were on and not on football. We sat at a table, when the bartender came over with the menus we asked her if they were playing football games. She shrugged and said she didn’t know…our answer was ok, we’re here mostly for that so I guess we won’t stay. No problem…she took away the menus and went on her way. Not let me check at any point, I don’t understand that kind of attitude. We would have been there at least 3+ hours, drinking and at least nibbling on something. Oh well…strike 1.
So….we went on to Fat Tony’s. It was pretty busy with the food part of the business. There were 5 patrons at the bar but no bartender in sight. We sat at the bar and waited for a bartender for about 10-15 minutes, I then noticed how everyone’s drink glass was empty. The tvs were not showing any of the football games. We decided to leave buy beer and watch the game at “home”. When we were leaving, the people sitting at the bar looked at us in dismay saying how they didn’t know what was going on as their drinks were dry. Strike 2.
Off to Carrefour for beer and Mark’s for dinner (take out). We went to Carrefour as it was close to closing time, there I picked up a couple of necessities. I’m glad I did as when we made our way to Mark’s there was a 45 minute wait for the food as they were busy. We decided to just go home and watch the game…it was already past halftime.
We watched the game from the start, drank our beers and needless to say…I will be cooking. Now we’re watching game 2 and hanging out, happy my team won.
Thanks to all who gave me suggestions…it was just not meant to be. All is good!

I was rooting for the Fins also, Glad they won. Seems like you should have gone to Replay Sports Bar.

Thanks!! There’s always next time. The Fins play this Thursday night…doubt we’ll be going anywhere. As we get older we don’t like to drink and drive, especially at night and most likely after a day of beach. My birthday is Wednesday so I’m hoping for a belated present from them. One can only wish!!

If you can watch it from your room, that's where I would be. Best wishes to the Fins!
