Staying at RP in Oct for the first time and I have a few questions:
What is the emergency power system situation?
How is the beach and swimming there?
What is accessibility like (Stairs, levels, etc.)?
Can you walk to the BBR on the beach?
We are in a 2br unit. Should I request west wing for noise concerns?
Thank you in advance

1) Royal Palm does have a generator.
2) Beach is fairly large and there are several shade cabanas. As far as swimming there, I personally do not swim there. There are a lot of sailboats who anchor out in the bay in front of RP. Many or most of them do not use sewage tanks.
3) As far as stairs, there are a couple of elevators, so rooms are all accessible via elevator. There are maybe a couple of stairs in the common areas, but not many.
4) I don't know right now as far as walking to BBB on the beach, because the place next to RP, whose name escapes me at the moment, closed, so the beach may be closed off by construction barriers.
5) When you say "west wing", I am directionally challenged. I would probably request the wing closer to the channel to the bridge for that reason. There are a couple of businesses on the other side that sometimes are noisy at night.
Enjoy!

You got your directions correct Carol. West is towards the channel, east is towards Buccaneer Beach bar.

Agree with Carol on above and just add that some guests staying on wing parallel to bridge channel sometimes fuss about the long walk from the elevator if they are walking challenged….. Dave

If you watch this webcam feed long enough, you'll see the entirety of Kim Sha beach. And to me, it appears that a person could walk from RP to BBB. I'll be at RP next year, and I'm curious to know as well...

Isn't "interesting" how the SBR sponsored cam comes to a stop at beginning of RP and then blinks over to the airport. I guess SBR doesn't want to see Royal Palm on 'their' cam.

You could make the walk in March as I did it a couple times.
