The day began with a short chat with Doug at the seawall. He spends some time with one of the cats before taking his daily swim. We caught up on some things and he assured me wifi would be back at some point tomorrow, one way or the other. I was also enlightened to a little more of what the problem is.
A quick trip to Le Sucriere, which was very busy and some inpatient customers. As I was walking out to my car, I noticed another car pulling away left their McDonalds cups in the lot. Why do people do this?
The wind (which was somewhat noticeable the past 2 days) shifted some and lessened. The water is extremely clear this morning and I am going to check it out soon and spend the day here.
Multiple dips in the ocean followed by some time in the hammock and under the BBQ pavilion. From what I could see from the water, Mary’s Boon and K both had many umbrellas out. It has been a very nice beach day here.
I heard what sounded like a bird of some sort that was in distress. Turns out someone had a small drone out in front of here and it was tormenting a couple of seagulls. Mind you, we are very near the airport so not at all sure of the legality of this.
HH at Lee’s followed by a very good meal at Jax. I ate at the bar and had an excellent beef short rib followed by dessert. Not inexpensive but not out of line with what we pay at home for the places we frequent.
Last trip we went to Le Suciere on a Sunday morning, and it was a MADHOUSE. People parking all over the place, and they had a guy out there trying to keep the parking lot somewhat under control.
Sounds like the person with the drone needs to have someone take away their TOY. That's ridiculous. I don't know what the rules are about the airport and drones, but rules seem to not matter much in SXM.
This was a very small drone and according to Doug, they are not to be flown here, especially near the airport. It may have been a kids toy, no idea really but it had the seagulls worked up.
