Yeah, I guess they now just call it "power outages", as compared to "load shedding".

Yeah, I saw that, and in three hour increments, when before the new generators, it was only two hours. Sounds like things are getting better, not!!

And despite what Jeff Berger keeps saying, this DOES affect MANY tourists, as well as the poor locals who have had to deal with this mess for the past several months now.

The Horny Toad has a generator but I have yet to notice it kicking on.

Yes, this affects locals much more than tourists but all one has to do is read the various facebook group pages and TTOL to know it has some contemplating their decisions. I can tell you, with the current heat situation, it would be very unpleasant to not have electric. Maybe Berger does the GEBE website so they get a pass???

JD--I guess the Toad would be listed under Simpson Bay, for loadshedding. Edit--Simpson Bay now listed as loadshedding from 2:30 to 5:30 today.

Well, it happened, probably around 2:30. I had left for a bit and when I pulled in the generator was running. Pure island speculation but the manger here "heard" this had not happened the last couple of days and a few days prior because of the election on Monday. Back to "normal" GEBE now I guess.

Well, there you go. Glad they have a generator there, as it looks to be same ol', same ol' again.

I think it was the last time I was there, the generator didn't come on when electricity went out; I was in the middle of drying my hair. Turns out something was wrong with the generator, and they had to call repair to get it fixed.

It came right on. We have one at home and while I change the oil and filter yearly, I will have it fully serviced and a new battery in late Sept. We suffered 7 days without electric the year Ike went through so with as much as we ae away and a finished basement, we thought it was a very good thing to have.

Looking at the load shedding schedule from yesterday, there were several areas that were off for three hours two DIFFERENT times yesterday, including Beacon Hill. NOT good. Edit--just now posted start of loadshedding schedule for today.

I just got back from Mullet Bay (and it was as good as I have ever seen it) and the generator is running here at The Horny Toad.

Glad that Mullet was good. I think I saw that Simpson Bay was supposed to be off for like 4 or 5 hours in a row.

So, it looks pretty official--the new generators have done exactly zip to make the situation any better.

Hopefully GEBE has their act together by November, or out goes the "you will want for nothing " line.

Well with the new formed Coalition Government formed today by November the Island will be totally back on line 24 hrs , but prayers still because a lot of monies will have to be found to totally replaced the old expired Genartors .

Todd.

As Carol already stated, no private generator at BSV, but that said, in all our stays there we’ve never lost power - not even for an hour.. Not to say it couldn’t happen but we’ve been very fortunate so far.

Respectfully,

pat
