Was out to the pool around 8:30 AM until some clouds rolled in followed by 5 minutes of rain and a sky of clouds to follow
What better reason to sneak away to Bacchus for lunch

stopped next door to the restaurant first to pick up a bottle for the cellar at home

Although the daily menu has some nice choices, the specials are always more inviting

We arrived just before noon and several tables were already occupied and they did a good lunch service as far as number of guests
It always surprises me how many locals go out for what I would call a fancy lunch with the exception of the beach bars

A petite amuse of chilled zucchini soup was a nice beginning

We always start with 50 grams of oscietra caviar served with warm blinis and a lemony whipped cream
I didn't notice but my wife was piling her blinis up pretty good with the caviar and we didn't need any additional blinis, 50 grams doesn't go a long way maybe 12 total
It is a treat to enjoy and it is very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants on the island that offer caviar

Off the specials my wife enjoyed the salmon / tuna tar tar served with crispy french fries
Nice size portion

I always like to try something different so I choose the beef tar tar mixed with foie gras in port and smoked duck topped with a croustade and seared foie gras
Truffle fries were better than my wife's normal french fries
I would order this again, definitely
Maybe not the perfect wine pairing but I ordered a sweet wine to compliment my foie gras.
Usually a sauterne is a perfect pair
Bacchus offers a delightful Argentinian wine which is a late harvest of Sauvignon blanc and Semillon
Honey colored and sweet, maybe more like a Tokaji than a sauterne, certainly not complex but still a nice compliment to the foie gras
A good three ounce pour was only $9.00
My wife's aperol spritz was also $9.00, kills me home they are charging on the average $14.00

The sun was out so no dessert and it was not needed as we need to cut out calories sometimes

Service was not up to expectations and we stopped back into the wine part of Bacchus to say hello to a long time friend who works there to say hello and mentioned our wonderful lunch but also about the service
He understood as he said they are staffing issues which is not easily fixed as servers move on from place to place

You can all appreciate when you go to a restaurant year to year and see the same servers and they even remember your name

Still the food was very good

Always wanted to try.We know it's located in Hope Estates. But where? We've driven around but can't seem to find it.

RonDon, I don't know how to tell you to get there. It is hard to find. The first time we went looking for it, we had to avoid a herd of cows that was coming through the parking lot!

As I know how to find it, I believe it is the first road behind the Super U

Sebastien's bakery is near Price leader in the next shopping center over and not to be missed

Yes love the goats more than the cows that come down off the big hill
